² H559 And he said [H8799]   H3967 unto them, I am an hundred H6242 and twenty H8141 years H1121 old H3117 this day H3201 ; I can [H8799]   H3318 no more go out [H8800]   H935 and come in [H8800]   H3068 : also the LORD H559 hath said [H8804]   H5674 unto me, Thou shalt not go over [H8799]   H3383 this Jordan.

³ H3068 The LORD H430 thy God H5674 , he will go over [H8802]   H6440 before H8045 thee, and he will destroy [H8686]   H1471 these nations H6440 from before H3423 thee, and thou shalt possess [H8804]   H3091 them: and Joshua H5674 , he shall go over [H8802]   H6440 before H3068 thee, as the LORD H1696 hath said [H8765]  .

⁴ H3068 And the LORD H6213 shall do [H8804]   H6213 unto them as he did [H8804]   H5511 to Sihon H5747 and to Og H4428 , kings H567 of the Amorites H776 , and unto the land H8045 of them, whom he destroyed [H8689]  .

⁵ H3068 And the LORD H5414 shall give them up [H8804]   H6440 before your face H6213 , that ye may do [H8804]   H4687 unto them according unto all the commandments H6680 which I have commanded [H8765]   you.

⁶ H2388 Be strong [H8798]   H553 and of a good courage [H8798]   H3372 , fear [H8799]   H6206 not, nor be afraid [H8799]   H6440 of them H3068 : for the LORD H430 thy God H1980 , he it is that doth go [H8802]   H7503 with thee; he will not fail [H8686]   H5800 thee, nor forsake [H8799]   thee.

⁷ H4872 And Moses H7121 called [H8799]   H3091 unto Joshua H559 , and said [H8799]   H5869 unto him in the sight H3478 of all Israel H2388 , Be strong [H8798]   H553 and of a good courage [H8798]   H935 : for thou must go [H8799]   H5971 with this people H776 unto the land H3068 which the LORD H7650 hath sworn [H8738]   H1 unto their fathers H5414 to give [H8800]   H5157 them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit [H8686]   it.

⁸ H3068 And the LORD H1980 , he it is that doth go [H8802]   H6440 before H7503 thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail [H8686]   H5800 thee, neither forsake [H8799]   H3372 thee: fear [H8799]   H2865 not, neither be dismayed [H8735]  .

⁹ H4872 And Moses H3789 wrote [H8799]   H8451 this law H5414 , and delivered [H8799]   H3548 it unto the priests H1121 the sons H3878 of Levi H5375 , which bare [H8802]   H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H2205 , and unto all the elders H3478 of Israel.

¹⁰ H4872 And Moses H6680 commanded [H8762]   H559 them, saying [H8800]   H7093 , At the end H7651 of every seven H8141 years H4150 , in the solemnity H8141 of the year H8059 of release H2282 , in the feast H5521 of tabernacles,

¹¹ H3478 When all Israel H935 is come [H8800]   H7200 to appear [H8736]   H6440 before H3068 the LORD H430 thy God H4725 in the place H977 which he shall choose [H8799]   H7121 , thou shalt read [H8799]   H8451 this law H3478 before all Israel H241 in their hearing.

¹² H6950 Gather H5971 the people H6950 together [H8685]   H582 , men H802 , and women H2945 , and children H1616 , and thy stranger H8179 that is within thy gates H8085 , that they may hear [H8799]   H3925 , and that they may learn [H8799]   H3372 , and fear [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H430 your God H8104 , and observe [H8804]   H6213 to do [H8800]   H1697 all the words H8451 of this law:

¹³ H1121 And that their children H3045 , which have not known [H8804]   H8085 any thing, may hear [H8799]   H3925 , and learn [H8804]   H3372 to fear [H8800]   H3068 the LORD H430 your God H3117 , as long as H2416 ye live H127 in the land H5674 whither ye go over [H8802]   H3383 Jordan H3423 to possess [H8800]   it.

¹⁴ H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H4872 unto Moses H3117 , Behold, thy days H7126 approach [H8804]   H4191 that thou must die [H8800]   H7121 : call [H8798]   H3091 Joshua H3320 , and present [H8690]   H168 yourselves in the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H6680 , that I may give him a charge [H8762]   H4872 . And Moses H3091 and Joshua H3212 went [H8799]   H3320 , and presented [H8691]   H168 themselves in the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation.

¹⁵ H3068 And the LORD H7200 appeared [H8735]   H168 in the tabernacle H5982 in a pillar H6051 of a cloud H5982 : and the pillar H6051 of the cloud H5975 stood [H8799]   H6607 over the door H168 of the tabernacle.

¹⁶ H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H4872 unto Moses H7901 , Behold, thou shalt sleep [H8802]   H1 with thy fathers H5971 ; and this people H6965 will rise up [H8804]   H2181 , and go a whoring [H8804]   H310 after H430 the gods H5236 of the strangers H776 of the land H935 , whither they go [H8802]   H7130 to be among H5800 them, and will forsake [H8804]   H6565 me, and break [H8689]   H1285 my covenant H3772 which I have made [H8804]   with them.

¹⁷ H639 Then my anger H2734 shall be kindled [H8804]   H3117 against them in that day H5800 , and I will forsake [H8804]   H5641 them, and I will hide [H8689]   H6440 my face H398 from them, and they shall be devoured [H8800]   H7227 , and many H7451 evils H6869 and troubles H4672 shall befall [H8804]   H559 them; so that they will say [H8804]   H3117 in that day H7451 , Are not these evils H4672 come [H8804]   H430 upon us, because our God H7130 is not among us?

¹⁸ H5641 And I will surely [H8687]   H5641 hide [H8686]   H6440 my face H3117 in that day H7451 for all the evils H6213 which they shall have wrought [H8804]   H3588 , in that H6437 they are turned [H8804]   H312 unto other H430 gods.

¹⁹ H3789 Now therefore write [H8798]   H7892 ye this song H3925 for you, and teach [H8761]   H1121 it the children H3478 of Israel H7760 : put [H8798]   H6310 it in their mouths H7892 , that this song H5707 may be a witness H1121 for me against the children H3478 of Israel.

²⁰ H935 For when I shall have brought [H8686]   H127 them into the land H7650 which I sware [H8738]   H1 unto their fathers H2100 , that floweth [H8802]   H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H398 ; and they shall have eaten [H8804]   H7646 and filled [H8804]   H1878 themselves, and waxen fat [H8804]   H6437 ; then will they turn [H8804]   H312 unto other H430 gods H5647 , and serve [H8804]   H5006 them, and provoke [H8765]   H6565 me, and break [H8689]   H1285 my covenant.

²¹ H7227 And it shall come to pass, when many H7451 evils H6869 and troubles H4672 are befallen [H8799]   H7892 them, that this song H6030 shall testify [H8804]   H6440 against H5707 them as a witness H7911 ; for it shall not be forgotten [H8735]   H6310 out of the mouths H2233 of their seed H3045 : for I know [H8804]   H3336 their imagination H6213 which they go about [H8802]   H3117 , even now H935 , before I have brought [H8686]   H776 them into the land H7650 which I sware [H8738]  .

²² H4872 Moses H3789 therefore wrote [H8799]   H7892 this song H3117 the same day H3925 , and taught [H8762]   H1121 it the children H3478 of Israel.

²³ H3091 And he gave Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H6680 a charge [H8762]   H559 , and said [H8799]   H2388 , Be strong [H8798]   H553 and of a good courage [H8798]   H935 : for thou shalt bring [H8686]   H1121 the children H3478 of Israel H776 into the land H7650 which I sware [H8738]   unto them: and I will be with thee.

²⁴ H4872 And it came to pass, when Moses H3615 had made an end [H8763]   H3789 of writing [H8800]   H1697 the words H8451 of this law H5612 in a book H8552 , until they were finished [H8800]  ,

²⁵ H4872 That Moses H6680 commanded [H8762]   H3881 the Levites H5375 , which bare [H8802]   H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H559 , saying [H8800]  ,

²⁶ H3947 Take [H8800]   H5612 this book H8451 of the law H7760 , and put [H8804]   H6654 it in the side H727 of the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H430 your God H5707 , that it may be there for a witness against thee.

²⁷ H3045 For I know [H8804]   H4805 thy rebellion H7186 , and thy stiff H6203 neck H2416 : behold, while I am yet alive H3117 with you this day H4784 , ye have been rebellious [H8688]   H3068 against the LORD H310 ; and how much more after H4194 my death?

²⁸ H6950 Gather [H8685]   H2205 unto me all the elders H7626 of your tribes H7860 , and your officers [H8802]   H1696 , that I may speak [H8762]   H1697 these words H241 in their ears H5749 , and call H8064 heaven H776 and earth H5749 to record [H8686]   against them.

²⁹ H3045 For I know [H8804]   H310 that after H4194 my death H7843 ye will utterly [H8687]   H7843 corrupt [H8686]   H5493 yourselves, and turn aside [H8804]   H1870 from the way H6680 which I have commanded [H8765]   H7451 you; and evil H7122 will befall [H8804]   H319 you in the latter H3117 days H6213 ; because ye will do [H8799]   H7451 evil H5869 in the sight H3068 of the LORD H3707 , to provoke him to anger [H8687]   H4639 through the work H3027 of your hands.

³⁰ H4872 And Moses H1696 spake [H8762]   H241 in the ears H6951 of all the congregation H3478 of Israel H1697 the words H7892 of this song H8552 , until they were ended [H8800]  .
