² H5971 And the people H6817 cried [H8799]   H4872 unto Moses H4872 ; and when Moses H6419 prayed [H8691]   H3068 unto the LORD H784 , the fire H8257 was quenched [H8799]  .

³ H7121 And he called [H8799]   H8034 the name H1931 of the H4725 place H8404 Taberah H784 : because the fire H3068 of the LORD H1197 burnt [H8804]   among them.

⁴ H628 And the mixt multitude H7130 that was among H183 them fell a lusting [H8694]   H8378   H1121 : and the children H3478 of Israel H1058 also wept [H8799]   H7725 again [H8799]   H559 , and said [H8799]   H1320 , Who shall give us flesh H398 to eat [H8686]  ?

⁶ H5315 But now our soul H3002 is dried away H1115 : there is nothing at all, beside H4478 this manna H5869 , before our eyes.

⁷ H4478 And the manna H1407 was as coriander H2233 seed H5869 , and the colour H5869 thereof as the colour H916 of bdellium.

⁸ H5971 And the people H7751 went about [H8804]   H3950 , and gathered [H8804]   H2912 it, and ground [H8804]   H7347 it in mills H1743 , or beat [H8804]   H4085 it in a mortar H1310 , and baked [H8765]   H6517 it in pans H6213 , and made [H8804]   H5692 cakes H2940 of it: and the taste H2940 of it was as the taste H3955 of fresh H8081 oil.

⁹ H2919 And when the dew H3381 fell [H8800]   H4264 upon the camp H3915 in the night H4478 , the manna H3381 fell [H8799]   upon it.

¹¹ H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799]   H3068 unto the LORD H7489 , Wherefore hast thou afflicted [H8689]   H5650 thy servant H4672 ? and wherefore have I not found [H8804]   H2580 favour H5869 in thy sight H7760 , that thou layest [H8800]   H4853 the burden H5971 of all this people upon me?

¹² H2029 Have I conceived [H8804]   H5971 all this people H3205 ? have I begotten [H8804]   H559 them, that thou shouldest say [H8799]   H5375 unto me, Carry [H8798]   H2436 them in thy bosom H539 , as a nursing father [H8802]   H5375 beareth [H8799]   H3243 the sucking child [H8802]   H127 , unto the land H7650 which thou swarest [H8738]   H1 unto their fathers?

¹³ H370 Whence H1320 should I have flesh H5414 to give [H8800]   H5971 unto all this people H1058 ? for they weep [H8799]   H559 unto me, saying [H8800]   H5414 , Give [H8798]   H1320 us flesh H398 , that we may eat [H8799]  .

¹⁴ H3201 I am not able [H8799]   H5375 to bear [H8800]   H5971 all this people H905 alone H3515 , because it is too heavy for me.

¹⁵ H6213 And if thou deal [H8802]   H2026 thus with me, kill [H8798]   H2026 me, I pray thee, out of hand [H8800]   H4672 , if I have found [H8804]   H2580 favour H5869 in thy sight H7200 ; and let me not see [H8799]   H7451 my wretchedness.

¹⁶ H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H4872 unto Moses H622 , Gather [H8798]   H7657 unto me seventy H376 men H2205 of the elders H3478 of Israel H3045 , whom thou knowest [H8804]   H2205 to be the elders H5971 of the people H7860 , and officers [H8802]   H3947 over them; and bring [H8804]   H168 them unto the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H3320 , that they may stand [H8694]   there with thee.

¹⁷ H3381 And I will come down [H8804]   H1696 and talk [H8765]   H680 with thee there: and I will take [H8804]   H7307 of the spirit H7760 which is upon thee, and will put [H8804]   H5375 it upon them; and they shall bear [H8804]   H4853 the burden H5971 of the people H5375 with thee, that thou bear [H8799]   it not thyself alone.

¹⁸ H559 And say [H8799]   H5971 thou unto the people H6942 , Sanctify [H8690]   H4279 yourselves against to morrow H398 , and ye shall eat [H8804]   H1320 flesh H1058 : for ye have wept [H8804]   H241 in the ears H3068 of the LORD H559 , saying [H8800]   H1320 , Who shall give us flesh H398 to eat [H8686]   H2895 ? for it was well [H8804]   H4714 with us in Egypt H3068 : therefore the LORD H5414 will give [H8804]   H1320 you flesh H398 , and ye shall eat [H8804]  .

¹⁹ H398 Ye shall not eat [H8799]   H259 one H3117 day H3117 , nor two days H2568 , nor five H3117 days H6235 , neither ten H3117 days H6242 , nor twenty H3117 days;

²⁰ H2320 But even a whole month H3117   H3318 , until it come out [H8799]   H639 at your nostrils H2214 , and it be loathsome H3282 unto you: because H3988 that ye have despised [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H7130 which is among H1058 you, and have wept [H8799]   H6440 before H559 him, saying [H8800]   H3318 , Why came we forth [H8804]   H4714 out of Egypt?

²¹ H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799]   H5971 , The people H7130 , among H8337 whom I am, are six H3967 hundred H505 thousand H7273 footmen H559 ; and thou hast said [H8804]   H5414 , I will give [H8799]   H1320 them flesh H398 , that they may eat [H8804]   H3117 a whole H2320 month.

²² H6629 Shall the flocks H1241 and the herds H7819 be slain [H8735]   H4672 for them, to suffice [H8804]   H1709 them? or shall all the fish H3220 of the sea H622 be gathered together [H8735]   H4672 for them, to suffice [H8804]   them?

²³ H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H4872 unto Moses H3068 , Is the LORD'S H3027 hand H7114 waxed short [H8799]   H7200 ? thou shalt see [H8799]   H1697 now whether my word H7136 shall come to pass [H8799]   unto thee or not.

²⁴ H4872 And Moses H3318 went out [H8799]   H1696 , and told [H8762]   H5971 the people H1697 the words H3068 of the LORD H622 , and gathered [H8799]   H7657 the seventy H376 men H2205 of the elders H5971 of the people H5975 , and set [H8686]   H5439 them round about H168 the tabernacle.

²⁵ H3068 And the LORD H3381 came down [H8799]   H6051 in a cloud H1696 , and spake [H8762]   H680 unto him, and took [H8686]   H7307 of the spirit H5414 that was upon him, and gave [H8799]   H7657 it unto the seventy H2205 elders H376   H7307 : and it came to pass, that, when the spirit H5117 rested [H8800]   H5012 upon them, they prophesied [H8691]   H3254 , and did not cease [H8804]  .

²⁶ H7604 But there remained [H8735]   H8147 two H582 of the men H4264 in the camp H8034 , the name H259 of the one H419 was Eldad H8034 , and the name H8145 of the other H4312 Medad H7307 : and the spirit H5117 rested [H8799]   H3789 upon them; and they were of them that were written [H8803]   H3318 , but went not out [H8804]   H168 unto the tabernacle H5012 : and they prophesied [H8691]   H4264 in the camp.

²⁷ H7323 And there ran [H8799]   H5288 a young man H5046 , and told [H8686]   H4872 Moses H559 , and said [H8799]   H419 , Eldad H4312 and Medad H5012 do prophesy [H8693]   H4264 in the camp.

²⁸ H3091 And Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H8334 , the servant [H8764]   H4872 of Moses H979 , one of his young men H6030 , answered [H8799]   H559 and said [H8799]   H113 , My lord H4872 Moses H3607 , forbid [H8798]   them.

²⁹ H4872 And Moses H559 said [H8799]   H7065 unto him, Enviest [H8764]   H5414 thou for my sake? would God that all the [H8799]   H3068 LORD'S H5971 people H5030 were prophets H3068 , and that the LORD H5414 would put [H8799]   H7307 his spirit upon them!

³⁰ H4872 And Moses H622 gat [H8735]   H4264 him into the camp H2205 , he and the elders H3478 of Israel.

³¹ H5265 And there went forth [H8804]   H7307 a wind H3068 from the LORD H1468 , and brought [H8799]   H7958 quails H3220 from the sea H5203 , and let them fall [H8799]   H4264 by the camp H3117 , as it were a day's H1870 journey H3541 on this side H3117 , and as it were a day's H1870 journey H3541 on the other side H5439 , round about H4264 the camp H520 , and as it were two cubits H6440 high upon the face H776 of the earth.

³² H5971 And the people H6965 stood up [H8799]   H3117 all that day H3915 , and all that night H4283 , and all the next H3117 day H622 , and they gathered [H8799]   H7958 the quails H4591 : he that gathered least [H8688]   H622 gathered [H8804]   H6235 ten H2563 homers H7849 : and they spread [H8799]   H7849 them all abroad [H8800]   H5439 for themselves round about H4264 the camp.

³³ H1320 And while the flesh H2962 was yet H8127 between their teeth H3772 , ere it was chewed [H8735]   H639 , the wrath H3068 of the LORD H2734 was kindled [H8804]   H5971 against the people H3068 , and the LORD H5221 smote [H8686]   H5971 the people H3966 with a very H7227 great H4347 plague.

³⁴ H7121 And he called [H8799]   H8034 the name H4725 of that place H6914 Kibrothhattaavah H6912 : because there they buried [H8804]   H5971 the people H183 that lusted [H8693]  .

³⁵ H5971 And the people H5265 journeyed [H8804]   H6914 from Kibrothhattaavah H2698 unto Hazeroth H2698 ; and abode at Hazeroth.
