Then Hamor and Shechem his son came to the gate of their [enclosed] town and discussed the matter with the citizens, saying,
And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
Hamor and his son Shechem went to their city’s gate and spoke to the men of their city:
And entering at the gate of the city, they spoke to the people:
